Job summary

Saint-Gobain Edmonton is seeking a Plant Accountant to support manufacturing cost control, inventory integrity, and financial reporting, reporting directly to the Site Controller. The role emphasizes accurate costing, variance analysis, BOM validation, and timely financial reporting within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Active CPA pursuit or designation preferred.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum five years in manufacturing accounting or similar industry.
• Strong cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing process knowledge.
• High accuracy, detail orientation and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills for complex financial issues.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and report manufacturing costs, variances, and efficiencies.
• Validate production jobs, BOMs, and system transactions for accuracy.
• Measure and report production performance and KPIs to Finance and Operations.
• Review BOMs to ensure accurate costing and system alignment.
• Verify supplier invoices for accuracy and timely payment.
• Plan and coordinate annual and cyclical physical counts.
• Track projects, monitor spending, and report variances.
• Support continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
