Job Type: Part Time (Approximately 20 hours per week)
The Rural Municipality of Armstrong is currently seeking a Part-Time Planning Services Administrator who will be responsible for overseeing all permitting and planning-related matters for the Municipality. The role ensures that planning services and development applications are processed efficiently, accurately and in compliance with all applicable municipal by-laws, policies, and provincial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Administer the planning and permitting process for the Fisher Armstrong Planning District (FAPD) and the Municipality, including the processing of development and building permit applications.
· Coordinate with applicants, internal departments, and external agencies to ensure timely and complete submissions and decisions.
· Maintain up-to-date records of planning applications, permits, zoning amendments, variances, and subdivision requests.
· Provide accurate information to the public, developers, and stakeholders.
· Prepare reports and recommendations to Council and committees as required.
· Monitor deadlines and ensure timely responses and follow-ups on all planning matters.
· Support long-range initiatives.
· Attend meetings, open houses, and public hearings related to planning and development.
· Other duties as assigned by the CAO.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent is required.
· 2 years of municipal planning, permitting, or development services experience is preferred.
· Knowledge of zoning bylaws and municipal legislation is an asset.
· Basic understanding of Microsoft Office tools.
· Excellent communication skills.
