Job summary

Compass Geomatics Ltd. is seeking a Plan Checker to provide quality control on plans received from our drafting team. You will ensure plans meet client requirements, provincial regulations, Land Titles, and industry standards.

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role requires attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work long hours as needed.

Technical school education is a plus, and 2–5 years of Oil & Gas related plan experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; technical school education encouraged.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, reliable.
• 2–5 years Oil & Gas plan experience is asset.
• Knowledge of current industry plan standards.

Responsibilities

• Review field notes for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure plan standards meet industry standards and client requirements.
• Complete closures and mathematical checks.
• Review Public Land Standing reports and titles from the Land Titles Office.
• Process field data.
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings as required.

Position Description

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Plan Checker’s role is to provide quality control on plans received from the production draftspersons. The Plan Checker must ensure plans meet client requirements as well as various industry standards (provincial regulations, Land Titles, Manual of Standard Practice).

Responsibilities

• Review field notes for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure plan standards meet industry standards and client requirements.
• Complete closures and mathematical checks.
• Review Public Land Standing reports and titles from the Land Titles Office.
• Process field data.
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required. Technical school education and previous experience an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, reliable, sound judgment, and computer knowledge.
• 2–5 years of experience with various Oil & Gas related plans is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of current industry plan standards.
