Job summary

The Government of Manitoba is seeking a skilled Placement Specialist to join the Return to Work and Accommodation Services Unit (RASU) within the Public Service Commission. Winnipeg-based, regular full-time role focused on coordinating accommodation, placement and re-employment when home positions are not feasible.

You will work with employees, departments and unions to develop individualized plans, manage medical information, and ensure legally defensible outcomes while upholding PHIA and FIPPA

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in health services, occupational health and safety, disability management, human resources, or a related field.
• Experience managing accommodation, return-to-work, placement, and re-employment cases.
• Experience interpreting medical and functional abilities information for decisions.
• Knowledge of PHIA and FIPPA and human rights legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the placement phase of return-to-work and accommodation files after transfer.
• Provide specialized accommodation, placement, and re-employment services.
• Develop individualized placement plans based on medical documentation and functional abilities.
• Coordinate trial placements and re-employment arrangements.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality.
