Job summary

Humber College in Etobicoke is seeking a Placement Advisor for the FHLS/CPL program to prepare learners for Work‑Integrated Learning and secure meaningful placements. You will deliver work-readiness workshops, provide resume and interview support, and offer one-on-one guidance throughout the placement process.

The role reports to the Operations Manager and includes administrative duties related to WIL and Experiential Learning in a dynamic, post-secondary environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive administrative or learner advising experience in a post-secondary.
  • Education items listed include ECE, Child Development, CYC, Social Worker.
  • A Resource Consulting credential is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Helping learners develop job-search skills and connecting them with Humber support services.
  • Sourcing and coordinating placement opportunities, liaising with host organizations and instructors, and maintaining placement records.
  • Monitoring learners during placements to ensure alignment with program expectations.
  • Applying knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Code to support diverse learners.
  • Building and maintaining strong industry and community partnerships to expand WIL opportunities.
  • Using digital tools (HSPnet, LLLEE, Blackboard, virtual platforms, social media) to support learners and promote FHLS programs.
  • Supporting administrative tasks related to WIL and Experiential Learning.
  • Duties as assigned

  • Hours: 35 hours per week

  • Salary: Payband H: $37.34 - $43.18
  • Starting Salary: $37.34; the wage is determined by the Full-Time Support Collective Agreement. Compensation is progressional within the designated payband and is based on years of service.

About the Placement Advisor Role:

The Placement Advisor in the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences (FHLS), Continuous Professional Learning supports learners in the Resource Consulting program by preparing them for Work ‑ Integrated Learning (WIL) and helping them secure meaningful placements. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the advisor delivers work ‑ readiness workshops, provides resume and interview support, and offers one ‑ on ‑ one advice to guide learners through the placement process. The Placement Advisor is also responsible for a host of administrative functions relating to Work-Integrated Learning and Experiential Learning.

Key responsibilities include:
