Plains is looking for a Pipeline Technician to work in the Peace River area that will report directly to the Peace River-Rainbow Lake Area Supervisor of Crude Pipelines. #plains

The expected term of this contract will be 12-18 months and bedirected through one of our preferred vendors forpayrolling.

This role has a rotating shift working 8 days on and 6 days off in a compressed work week of 80 hours over 8 days. A Tuesday-Tuesday rotation will be required for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability and willingness to work within pipeline operations, area-based projects, and process/pipeline maintenance.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance programs and guidelines followed on all pipelines and process equipment.
  • Ensure compliance on sampling, measurement, and tank gauging procedures to verify on over/short balances.
  • Understand and adhere to company safety practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Generate service requests, track and complete work orders, complete detailed work logs in MAXIMO.
  • Operate light duty machinery including skid steers, forklifts, man-lifts, plow trucks, and picker truck.
  • Periodic inspection and calibration of process equipment, and general site/building maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Ensure compliance with Industry Regulatory Directives and Alberta One Call / Ground Disturbance programs
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and assist MM & EI craftsmen with job scopes and tasks related to process equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced pipeline or battery operations background with mechanical aptitude on process and related equipment.
  • Preference will be given to those with 1-2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong computer and problem-solving skills required working with Microsoft, Excel, Workday, MAXIMO platforms.
  • Self-motivated and energetic with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of craftsmen and contractors as needed for maintenance, operations, and projects.
  • Compliance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy is mandatory.
  • The successful candidate must reside within the Peace River District (100km from Peace River) and/or in the Highway 35 corridor between Peace River and High Level.
  • A valid class 5 license for DIFO or Drive In For Operations to Rainbow Lake from within the prescribed area.
