We are seeking to hire one Pipeline Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our Medical Affairs team. In this role, you will develop and nurture relationships and enhance our scientific credibility with external experts in Oncology. This position is based in Quebec and reports to the Medical Manager, Pipeline Oncology.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong medical and scientific presence at investigational sites and key scientific centers, facilitating clinical research in phases 1 to 3 interventional trials with our medications, and supporting medical information requests.
  • Establish and maintain close collaborations with Site Management & Monitoring staff, supporting the initiation and conduct of prioritized AbbVie-led clinical trials.
  • Provide scientific leadership to foster professional and trusted relationships with investigators.
  • Serve as the point of contact for investigator-initiated study ideas involving AbbVie's pipeline assets.
  • Deliver scientific presentations to investigators regarding disease areas and AbbVie's pipeline in sponsored research.
  • Identify opportunities for R&D collaborations with key institutions and opinion leaders, liaising with Medical Affairs or Clinical Development teams for further assessment.
  • Gather medical field intelligence, such as maintaining investigator lists, understanding competitive research activities, and generating insights from investigators about clinical trial challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications

Education / Experience required:

  • Doctorate or MD preferred; a Master of Science with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Relevant industry experience, preferably as an MSL, with a background in the therapeutic area.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles within healthcare.
  • Proficiency in scientific presentation and interpretation of research publications.

Additional qualifications include expertise in medical research, understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, and excellent communication skills.

Essential skills and abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfort with technology and virtual interactions.
  • Strong commitment to compliance and scientific integrity.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
