Job summary

Northern Strands Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Pipefitter for underground and surface project work in Saskatchewan. You will review blueprints, fit and assemble pipe systems, and ensure proper testing and maintenance to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires an Apprenticeship level or Red Seal Journeyperson Certification, strong dexterity, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic mining and construction environment.

Qualifications

• Proof of Apprenticeship level or Red Seal Journeyperson Certification is required.
• Experience in cutting, fitting, and attaching pipe materials.
• Experience in high-quality inspections, repairs, and maintenance of pipe systems.
• Knowledge of piping systems related to bolt-up of fittings and valves, and measuring threading and cutting.
• Must have excellent dexterity and precision in movement.
• Ability to work safely and follow safety protocols.

Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Pipefitter. The Pipefitters’ primary responsibilities include installing various pipe specifications. This will be accomplished through the ability to review and interpret blueprints and other diagrams to understand requirements. The Pipefitter must possess technical knowledge of how to properly fit pipe and identify the right type for the job. The ability to troubleshoot and determine corrective actions on-site is an asset. What You Bring To The Table

• Must provide proof of Apprenticeship level or Red Seal Journeyperson Certification
• Experience in cutting, fitting, attaching various pipe materials
• Experience in high-quality inspections, repairs, and maintenance of pipe systems
• Knowledge of piping systems relating to bolt-up of fittings and valves as well as measuring threading and cutting
• Must have excellent dexterity and precision in movement
• Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial, but not required
• Must be physically fit and able safely lift heavy loads up to 50 pounds
• Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Ability to use judgement and apply discretion when making decisions
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong time-management skills
• Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times
• Any valid safety-related training certificates would be considered an asset (i.e., WHMIS, forklift, etc.)
