Job summary

FWS Group of Companies is recruiting for Pipefitters/Plumbers for projects in Northern BC and SK. You will support the department and Superintendent in safe pipefitting and installation tasks across piping systems, from layout to hydrotest.

We offer RRSPs, benefits, and professional training as part of our employee development. Eligible candidates should have apprenticeship enrollment or pipefitting experience, own basic tools, and be able to work 14/7 or 14/14 rotations away from home.

Qualifications

• Experience in pipefitting or enrolled in an apprenticeship program.
• HDPE Fusion ticket would be an asset.
• Able to work a 14/7 and/or 14/14 rotation with time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Knowledge of pipe, valves and fittings measurement, cutting, threading, bending.
• Experience with PVC/HDPE and stainless-steel piping.
• Water treatment and/or wastewater treatment knowledge is an asset.
• Zoom Boom ticket is considered an asset.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing might be required.

Responsibilities

• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals or fuel.
• Layout and repair pressurized piping systems.
• Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within modular assemblies.
• Establish control points with accuracy and transfer levels over distance.
• Work on threaded PVC, CPVC HDPE, PFA, PEX and Victaulic piping systems

As our Pipefitter/Plumber, you will provide support to the department and Superintendent.

Position Overview

• Responsible for safe and conscientious use of equipment including forklift, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Proficient in safe methods of hoisting, rigging, and scaffold erection.
• Proficient in material take-offs.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals, or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair pressurized piping systems.
• Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.
• Establishing control points with accuracy.
• Able to transfer levels over large distances with accuracy
• Working on threaded PVC, CPVC HDPE, PFA, PEX and Victaulic piping systems

Qualifications Needed

• Appropriate level of experience in pipefitting or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
• HDPE Fusion ticket would be an asset.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 and/or 14/14 work rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, and bending of pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Experience with compressed air piping and process hot/cold water piping systems.
• Experience with PVC/HDPE and stainless-steel piping.
• Knowledge of water treatment and/or wastewater treatment facility construction an asset.
• Valid Zoom Boom ticket is considered an asset.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing might be required.
