Job summary

Primoris Canada is seeking a Steamfitter-Pipefitter for pipe connections, hydro-testing, and rigging on industrial projects. The role is physically demanding and may be indoors or outdoors depending on the scope.

Anticipated start date is August 24, 2026, with a 10-day shift followed by a 24-day shift. Flights from Edmonton/Calgary and camp accommodation are provided as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Alberta journeyman ticket or equivalent
• CSTS-09 or CSO certification
• H2S awareness (asset)
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work in the field
• Team orientation and self-motivation
• Pre-employment drug/alcohol testing required

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and OH&S standards
• Select pipe type/size per blueprints and system operation
• Construct hangers and hydraulic cylinders per specs
• Use pipe bending tools or machines to bend pipe
• Perform pressure tests and check for leaks
• Ensure holes won’t weaken structure
• Connect pipe with threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, or fused joints
• Install and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic components
• Cut pipe using saws and cutting torches
• Secure pipe with brackets, clamps, and hangars
• Attend safety and toolbox meetings
• May perform other duties as assigned

SUMMARY

The Steamfitter-Pipefitter is involved in connecting pipe, hydro-testing, and rigging. This work may exist indoors or outdoors depending on the scope and is typically physically demanding.

Anticipated Start Date: August 24, 2026

Location:

CNRL Horizon Sustaining (CNRL CMS)

Shift:

10 day shift followed by a 24 day shift - modified based on project needs.

Travel:

Flights provided from Edmonton and Calgary

Hourly Rate:

$53.56

Additional Information: 3rd and 4th Year Apprentices may be considered.

JOB DUTIES

• Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
• Select type of pipe, size of pipe, and systems by applying knowledge of system operation and following blueprints
• Construct support hangers and hydraulic cylinders according to specifications
• Utilize pipe bending tools or machines to bend pipe
• Perform pressure tests by increasing pressure in pipe systems and observing pressure gauges to test for leaks
• Ensure that holes cut in pipe will not cause structural weakness
• Connect pipe utilizing threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, or fused joints and hand tools
• Install and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps and cylinders
• Cut pipe utilizing saws, pipe cutting machines, cutting torch, etc.
• Secure pipe with brackets, clamps, and hangars
• Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings
• May perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be an Alberta ticketed journeyman (or hold a journeyman certificate recognized by AIT)
• CSTS-09 and/or CSO
• H2S considered an asset
• Able to work well in a team environment
• Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in/under units in the field
• Organized and self-motivated
• Pre-employment alcohol and drug testing is a condition of employment
