Job summary

BEMAC is seeking qualified pipefitters to join on-site construction team for one-month at a remote camp near Fort McKay, Alberta, to participate in the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System.

The schedule is a 21-day-on rotation with 12-hour workdays. Fly-in/fly-out options from Edmonton and Calgary may be available based on eligibility. Hourly rate ranges from $32.15/hr to $53.58/hr.

Qualifications

• Apprentice up to and including Journeyperson Red Seal level.
• Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in pipefitting.
• Experience in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge and experience with industrial construction and operations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements.
• Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines.
• Select type and size of pipe required.
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools.
• Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system.
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems.
• Hydrotest system for leaks using testing equipment.
• Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system.
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system.
• Other duties as required

Required Tickets:

• Fall Protection Certification

As part of the recruitment process, successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks is required which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks as well as submittal of Provincial Driver’s Abstract. In addition, standard HSE certifications may be required including WHMIS, First Aid etc.
