Job summary

BEMAC is seeking Electricians for a one-month on-site assignment at a remote camp near Fort McKay, Alberta. The role supports construction for the Imperial Oil project, with a 14-day-on rotation and 12-hour workdays. Fly‑in/fly-out options from Edmonton or Calgary may be available.

Local candidates are preferred. Hourly rates range from CAD 32.15 to CAD 53.58 per hour, with standard pre-employment checks required and tickets such as AWP and Fall Protection expected.

Qualifications

• Apprentice up to Journeyperson Red Seal level.
• Industrial electrical and instrumentation experience required.
• Knowledge of heat tracing systems preferred.
• Strong safety and teamwork mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and instrumentation work safely and in compliance with all regulations.
• Review and execute work packages and field instructions.
• Install cable trays, power cables, and heat tracing as required.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities for electrical/instrumentation systems.
• Coordinate with Field Engineering and Quality Control to resolve issues.

We are currently seeking qualified Electriciansto join our on‑site Construction team for one-monthbased at a remote camp location near Fort McKay, Alberta. This position offers the opportunity to participate in the construction of the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System.

The schedule is planned as a 14-day-on rotation, consisting of 12-hour workdays. While preference will be given to local candidates, fly-in/fly-outoptions from Edmonton, Alberta, and Calgary, Alberta may be available based on eligibility.

Hourly rate: Ranges from $32.15/hr. to $53.58/hr.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Review electrical and instrumentation engineering, and construction work packages.
• Review and execute scope based on Field Instruction Work Packages
• Understand and execute work under LOTO requirements
• Install industrial cable tray and power cables
• Install process pipe heat tracing, SR or MI
• Support the install of instrumentation
• Install MCC Wrappers
• Management of material for required scope
• Communicate and work in a team environment
• Ability to work with Field Engineering and Quality Control to efficiently resolve hurdles
• Provide knowledge and advice on electrical and/or instrument equipment and systems.
• Provide direction in establishing the electrical and instrumentation requirements and specifications for existing and new facilities.
• Provide support in commissioning and start-up activities, as required, for the electrical and/or instrumentation equipment and systems in the field.
• Provide ongoing support to operations.
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Apprentice up to and including Journeyperson Red Seal level
• Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in electrical and/or instrumentation equipment and systems
• Knowledge and experience with Heat Trace systems
• Experience in an industrial setting required
• Knowledge and experience with industrial construction an asset
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization

Required Tickets:

• Aerial Work Platform (AWP), and Fall Protection Certification

As part of the recruitment process, successful clearance of applicable pre‑employment checks is required which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks as well as submittal of Provincial Driver’s Abstract. In addition, standard HSE certifications may be required including WHMIS, First Aid etc.
