Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team in St. Mary’s, ON. The role supports the supervising physiotherapist in residential care communities, delivers both individual and group therapies, and ensures a safe, organized treatment environment.

Applicants should hold a PTA/OTA diploma or degree in kinesiology, with LTC experience being an asset. A current Vulnerable Sector check and TB clearance are required.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or similar healthcare background required.
• LTC experience is an asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in LTC.
• Perform treatments prescribed by the physiotherapist (e.g., gait training, balance, ROM, strengthening; modalities such as heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS).
• Deliver group exercise classes for residents.
• Set up and clean equipment; maintain safety and tidiness of resident gym and treatment areas.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the physiotherapist about residents’ status and interventions.
• Record daily treatments in Seniors Wellness’ web-based system.
