Lifemark Seniors Wellness is hiring a Permanent Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team in Simcoe, ON. The role supports the supervising physiotherapist in residents’ treatment plans and delivers both individual and group exercise sessions.

Qualifying candidates hold a PTA/OTA diploma or kinesiology degree, with LTC experience preferred and required screenings (VSS and TB). Lifemark offers comprehensive benefits and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Previous LTC experience is an asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Tuberculin clearance (2-Step Mantoux) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in LTC settings.
• Perform treatments as prescribed (gait training, balance, ROM, strengthening, modalities).
• Deliver group exercise classes for residents.
• Prepare and cleanup treatment areas and equipment.
• Maintain safe, tidy resident gym and treatment spaces.
• Record treatments in the web-based system and communicate changes to the physiotherapist.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Simcoe, ON

Schedule: 39 hours/week

Status: Permanent Full-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
