Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness in Woodstock, ON is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to support the physiotherapist in residential care settings. The role offers 14 hours per week with a focus on delivering supervised treatments and group exercise for seniors.

The candidate should hold a PTA/OTA diploma or a degree in kinesiology or related healthcare field, have a valid Vulnerable Sector screening, and provide TB clearance.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in kinesiology or similar healthcare background.
• Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance.
• Experience in an LTC setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in LTC communities.
• Perform treatments as prescribed by the supervising Physiotherapist (e.g., gait training, balance, transfer training, ROM, strengthening, heat/ice/ultrasound/TENS).
• Deliver dynamic, safe group exercise classes for residents.
• Set up/prepare equipment and clean up after treatments.
• Ensure gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
• Maintain communication with the physiotherapist regarding resident status and treatment changes.
• Record daily treatments in Seniors Wellness's web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Woodstock, ON

Schedule: 14 hours/week

Status: Permanent Part-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
