Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team in Aylmer, ON.

You will assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in residential care, perform prescribed therapies, and support group exercise sessions while maintaining a safe, tidy treatment area.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or related healthcare field.
• Experience in LTC setting is an asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Proof of TB clearance (2-Step Mantoux).

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in residential care.
• Perform prescribed therapies including gait training, balance, transfer training, ROM, strengthening, and modalities.
• Deliver safe, dynamic exercise classes for groups of residents.
• Set up equipment and clean up after treatments.
• Keep the resident gym and treatment areas safe and tidy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the physiotherapist about residents' status or changes.
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Aylmer, ON

Status: Casual Part-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
