Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team in Windsor, ON. In this role you will support the supervising physiotherapist with residents in long-term care, perform prescribed treatments, deliver group exercises, and ensure the treatment areas are safe and tidy.

Qualifications include a PTA/OTA diploma or a degree in Kinesiology; LTC experience is an asset; a current Vulnerable Sector check and TB clearance are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in treatment plans for residents in long-term care.
• Perform treatments as prescribed by the physiotherapist including gait training, balance, transfer training, ROM, strengthening, modalities (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS).
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutic group exercise classes for residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after treatments.
• Ensure resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Windsor, ON

Schedule: 16 hours/week (Monday, Tuesday or Friday availability)

Status: Casual Part-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
