Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness in Stayner, ON is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to support the physiotherapy team across residential care residents. The role involves assisting with treatment plans, performing prescribed treatments, and delivering safe group exercise sessions.

Required qualifications include PTA/OTA diploma or kinesiology background. A Vulnerable Sector check and TB clearance are expected. This position is located in Stayner and offers part-time hours.

Qualifications

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans and delivery.
• Maintain patient safety during all procedures and exercises.
• Collaborate with the physiotherapist to adjust plans based on resident response.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising physiotherapist in performing components of treatment plans.
• Perform treatments as prescribed (gait training, balance, transfer, ROM, strengthening, modalities).
• Deliver dynamic, safe group exercise classes for residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment; clean up after treatments.
• Ensure resident gym and treatment areas are clean and safe.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the physiotherapist about changes in status or interventions.
• Record daily treatments using the web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Stayner, ON

Status: Permanent Part-Time

Schedule: 22.5 hours/week

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
