Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is hiring a Physiotherapy Assistant on a permanent full-time basis to support the physiotherapist in delivering care to residents in LTC facilities in Orillia and Penetanguishene, ON. The role involves assisting with treatment plans, group exercise delivery, and documentation in a web-based system.

The ideal candidate holds a PTA/OTA diploma or Kinesiology degree, has LTC exposure, and can provide recent Vulnerable Sector screening and TB clearance.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or similar healthcare background.
• LTC experience is asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in treatment plans for residents in residential care communities.
• Perform treatments as prescribed including gait training, balance, transfer, ROM, strengthening and modalities (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS).
• Deliver dynamic, safe exercise classes for groups of residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after treatments.
• Maintain safe and tidy resident gym and treatment areas.
• Communicate with the physiotherapist about changes or concerns in resident status or interventions.
• Record daily treatments in Seniors Wellness' web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Orillia and Penetanguishene, ON

Schedule: 36 hours/week

Status: Permanent Full-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
