Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to support supervision in LTC settings. Location: Simcoe, ON. Schedule: 39 hours/week.

This role involves assisting a physiotherapist with treatment plans, leading group exercises, and maintaining equipment and records. The successful candidate will hold a PTA/OTA diploma or a kinesiology degree or healthcare background, with LTC experience considered an asset and current Vulnerable Sector screening and TB

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in kinesiology/healthcare background.
• LTC experience is an asset.
• Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in LTC settings.
• Perform gait training, balance, transfer, ROM, strengthening, and modalities per plan (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS).
• Deliver group exercise classes for residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment; clean up after treatments.
• Ensure safety and tidiness of resident gym and treatment areas.
• Maintain communication with physiotherapist about resident status or interventions.
• Record daily treatments in the web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Simcoe, ON

Schedule: 39 hours/week

Status: Temporary Full-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
