Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness in Cambridge, ON is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team. You will support the supervising physiotherapist in delivering treatment plans for residents in long-term care settings.

You will perform gait training, balance exercises, ROM, strengthening, and modalities, while delivering safe group exercise classes. You will set up equipment, keep areas tidy, and document daily treatments in our web-based system.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or kinesiology degree required.
• Previous LTC setting experience is an asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in treatment plans for residents in residential care.
• Perform treatments as prescribed (gait training, balance, ROM, strengthening, modalities).
• Deliver dynamic group exercise classes for residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment; clean up after treatments.
• Ensure resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the physiotherapist about changes in resident status.
• Record daily treatments in the web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Salary Range: $17.60 To $21.17 Hourly

Location: Cambridge, ON

Schedule: 31 hours/week

Status: Permanent Full-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
