Lifemark Seniors Wellness in Orleans, ON seeks a Permanent Full-Time Bilingual Physiotherapy Assistant to support residents in our LTC settings. You will assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans, deliver group exercise classes, and help prepare equipment.

The ideal candidate has a PTA/OTA diploma (or degree in Kinesiology or similar), bilingual English/French, and is comfortable working in long-term care.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English and French required.
• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or related field.
• Experience in long-term care is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents.
• Perform prescribed treatments including gait, balance, ROM, strengthening, and modalities.
• Deliver dynamic group exercise classes for residents.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Bilingual Physiotherapy Assistant

Location: Orleans, ON

Status: Permanent Full-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications

• Bilingual French and English
• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
