Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness in King City, ON is seeking a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team. You will assist the supervising physiotherapist in residential care communities and support treatment plans for residents.

Responsibilities include gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, ROM, strengthening, modalities; deliver group exercise classes; maintain equipment and safety; document daily treatments in our web-based system.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or related healthcare background.
• Previous LTC experience is an asset.
• Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months is required.
• Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance required.

• Set up and prepare equipment; clean up after treatments; maintain tidy treatment areas.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the physiotherapist about resident status and interventions.
• Record daily treatments in Seniors Wellness' web-based system.

Status: Casual Part-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
