Job summary

A leading rehabilitation company is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to support Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in a seniors’ care setting. Responsibilities include assisting in treatment plans, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe environment. Ideal candidates will have a background in rehabilitation or exercise therapy and experience in senior care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a seniors’ care setting preferred.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within the last 6 months).
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist PTs / OTs in performing various components of the resident's treatment plan.
• Perform treatments as prescribed by the supervising Physiotherapist.
• Maintain ongoing communication with PTs / OTs regarding resident status changes.

Job description

Provide assistance to supervising Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in the treatment of Senior Wellness residents.

1. Assist PTs / OTs in performing various components of the resident's treatment plan.
2. Perform treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist.
3. Set up, prepare, maintain, and clean equipment used during treatments (e.g., hot packs, ice, electrical modalities).
4. Ensure the gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
5. Maintain ongoing communication with PTs / OTs regarding any resident status changes or concerns.
6. Complete "Daily Treatment Records" as directed by PTs / OTs.

Successful applicants will possess:

1. Rehabilitation Assistant / Exercise Therapist / Physical Education background.
2. Previous experience in a seniors’ care setting is preferred.
3. Reliable and able to work independently.
4. A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within the last 6 months).
5. Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance.
