Lifemark Health Group in Burlington, ON is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to support residents in our Seniors Wellness program. The role is based in Burlington with a 22.5 hour weekly schedule.

You will assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans, help with gait training, balance, ROM, and group exercises, while keeping spaces safe and well-organized and documenting daily treatments.

Competenze

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in a related field is required or preferred.
• Experience in long-term care is an asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening.
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance.

Mansioni

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents.
• Support gait training, balance, transfer and ROM exercises as directed.
• Deliver dynamic exercise classes for groups of residents.
• Set up, operate and clean equipment; maintain a safe treatment area.
• Record daily treatments in the facility's system and communicate changes to the physiotherapist.
• Ensure the resident gym and therapy spaces are tidy and safe.

Salary Range: $17.60 To $21.17 Hourly

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Burlington, ON

Schedule: 22.5 hours/week

Status: Permanent Part-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
