Description

The Sport Medicine Centre in the Faculty of Kinesiology is seeking a Recurring Part-time Physiotherapist.

The Physiotherapist reports to the Clinical Manager, Sport Medicine Centre. This is a recurring part-time position, based on a maximum 35-hour work week, and is part of the AUPE Collective Agreement. Flexibility in scheduling is required, with current demand for afternoon and evening shifts. The role demands the ability to work in a high-paced, multidisciplinary environment and manage a busy caseload.

The Sport Medicine Centre is an integrated facility specializing in treatment and rehabilitation of sport-related and musculoskeletal injuries, providing comprehensive services to athletes and other patients in Calgary and southern Alberta.

This position requires strong knowledge of physiotherapy theory and practical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a full caseload of patients, providing assessment, treatment, and management in accordance with service standards.
  • Deliver evidence-informed care and ensure complete documentation per Physiotherapy Alberta standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and facilitate interdisciplinary communication.
  • Participate in meetings, educate patients and families, and address patient dignity and safety.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Collect workload data, maintain records, and communicate concerns to the Clinical Manager.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and respect within the team.
  • Participate in ongoing education, professional development, and clinical research.
Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate or Master of Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
  • Registered with Physiotherapy Alberta in good standing
  • Advanced orthopedic training
  • Experience with interdisciplinary teams or athletes is an asset
  • Criminal record check required
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to perform complex interventions independently and use relevant equipment
