About the role

Reporting to the Occupational Health Manager, the Senior Occupational Health Coordinator promotes and coordinates our Health and Wellness initiatives and manages the Disability Management process. Responsibilities include data entry, record maintenance, intake, and administration of non-complex disability claims such as medical leaves, short-term and long-term disability, and WCB claims across Canada and the USA. This is a full-time position based in our Calgary corporate office.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Managing occupational and non-occupational claims
  2. Supporting case management and coverage
  3. Verifying and submitting documentation to insurers and obtaining additional information as needed
  4. Supporting health and wellness initiatives
  5. Processing invoices, tracking, and reporting
  6. Assisting with KPI and metric reporting
  7. Supporting return-to-work programs
  8. Handover of complex claims to the Occupational Health Advisor
Qualifications and experience
  1. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or healthcare background (e.g., Kinesiology) preferred
  2. Post-secondary diploma or certificate in a related field with 3-5 years of relevant experience; equivalent training and experience considered
  3. Experience with Disability Management, WCB, STD, and LTD is a strong asset
  4. Certifications such as CRTWC or CDMP are assets
  5. Knowledge of relevant legislation (WCB, OH&S Act, Human Rights)
  6. Understanding of Ergonomics
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to learn new software
  8. Ability to manage priorities, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines
  9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  10. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  11. Experience in the construction industry and health/wellness promotion is an asset
