We are seeking a Physiotherapist to join our Adult Day Program team, providing professional rehabilitation support services that focus on health promotion, well-being, independence, and maintaining functional abilities. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, applying clinical and interpersonal skills to deliver physiotherapy services in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices, using a client-centered approach. Services include direct therapeutic interventions, education, and resource connection, with care plans developed collaboratively with clients and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve optimal physical function and independence across various health conditions.
  • Engage clients and families actively in care planning and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional teams to improve service quality and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in peer mentoring, supervise students, and provide clinical supervision to support staff.

Location and Details:

  • Primary Location: Sturgeon Community Hospital
  • Classification: Physiotherapist I
  • Union: HSAA Facility PROF/TECH
  • FTE: 0.40
  • Shift: Days, 7.75 hours
  • Temporary position: May 16, 2025, to December 31, 2025

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university.
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
  • Minimum 6 months of physiotherapy experience, preferably with the geriatric population.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS HCP).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Continuing Care and Connect Care systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • 2+ years of physiotherapy experience and AADL authorization are assets.
