Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) is an Acute Care hospital with over 1,100 beds. It is the Trauma Centre for Southern Alberta, Eastern British Columbia and Western Saskatchewan. FMC has a Neuro Tertiary Unit as well as the majority of In-Patient Neurological services in Calgary. The caseload for this position is primarily in Medicine, with potential coverage on any unit/service as required. The role involves physically demanding tasks, including repetitive lifting and transferring of patients and/or equipment.

As a Physiotherapist I, you will deliver therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve optimal physical function and independence across various conditions. Your duties include prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, case management, and transition support, involving clients and families as active participants. You will collaborate with interprofessional teams, contribute to quality improvement, and may supervise students, Therapy Assistants, and Therapy Aides.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university and current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Experience in an acute hospital setting within the last year, BLS certification, and the ability to physically manage lifting and transfers are required. Preferred qualifications include experience with chest therapy and critical care.
