Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Physiotherapist to join Lions Gate Hospital's Hand Program team. You will provide physiotherapy care to Hand Program clients, assess and interpret findings, implement and evaluate treatment plans, and maintain patient records according to departmental standards.

Applicants should have a Baccalaureate degree in Physiotherapy, full registration with CHCPBC, eligibility for PABC, and Hand Therapy certification with five years of practice (2000 hours).

Qualifications

• Current full registration as a Physiotherapist with CHCPBC.
• Eligible for membership in PABC.
• Hand Therapy certification with 5 years of clinical practice and 2000 hours required.

Job description

Provides physiotherapy care to clients in the Hand Program in accordance with established departmental standards and Hospital policy. This includes assessing and interpreting assessment findings, implementing and evaluating a treatment program and maintaining records for each patient treated.

Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) is one of the 4 busiest hospitals in Vancouver, and one of only five Neurosurgery centers in British Columbia. LGH is located in North Vancouver which is internationally known for hiking and skiing trails in the forested mountains.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.

Education & Experience

• Baccalaureate degree in Physiotherapy.
• Current full registration as a Physiotherapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
• Eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC).
• Certification in Hand Therapy, five years of clinical practice with 2000 hours of Hand Therapy or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
