Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The commitment to continuous quality and safety improvement is integral to this position.

Reporting to the Coordinator, the Physiotherapist assesses, develops, and implements individual and group treatment programs to ensure optimal patient care for the assigned caseload. The role involves coordinating treatment programs with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
  • Graduation from a university program in Physiotherapy recognized by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).
  • Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist.
  • Eligibility for membership with the CPA.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated planning and instructional abilities.
  • Organizational skills for individual patient treatment programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Physical capability to perform duties.
