Job summary

Ocean View Continuing Care Centre in Eastern Passage, NS, seeks a Physiotherapist (PT) for a part-time role in long-term care. The successful candidate will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans and collaborate with the care team to meet resident mobility goals.

You will lead physiotherapy services, supervise PT assistants, and provide education to staff, residents and families, with emphasis on falls prevention and safe handling.

Qualifications

Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy.
Physiotherapy license in good standing with the Nova Scotia College or Physiotherapists.
Experience in assessment and treatment planning in in-patient acute care, geriatrics or long term care.
Knowledge of Falls Risk, Management & Assessment.

Responsibilities

Perform assessments and develop treatment plans for residents.
Oversee delivery of physiotherapy services and supervise PT assistants.
Educate staff, residents and families on falls management and mobility.
Co-chair Falls Prevention and Safe Resident Handling & Mobility Committees.
