AgeCare Dawson in Chestermere, AB is seeking a Physiotherapy Aide to support rehabilitation efforts for our residents. You will assist PT/OT, help implement therapy plans, and participate in program delivery to maximize independence.

Requires completion of Rehabilitation Therapist Diploma and fluency in English, with strong communication. Casual, on-site role with responsibility for equipment and infection control in a patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists Healthcare Professionals (PT/OT) in therapy sessions.
• Monitors resident participation in therapy interventions.

• Repairs or modifies resident equipment as needed.
• Maintains infection control in the treatment area and equipment.
• Distributes equipment and provides resources as required.
• Helps with data collection and records in the computer system.

The Opportunity

The Physiotherapy Aide will assist with the rehabilitation needs of our residents. This position assists in assessing, planning, implementation and ongoing delivery of therapy programs to encourage residents to function at their maximum potential of independence. The Physiotherapy Aide provides approved and directed therapy interventions to residents, clerical support to department, housekeeping duties with regards to equipment, and other tasks as required.

What You Will Do

• Provides assistance for Healthcare Professionals (PT / OT).
• Monitors resident ability to participate in therapy intervention.
• Prepares and maintains inventory of equipment and supplies and assists with maintenance programs (individual or group) as directed by the Therapist.
• Provides repairs or modifications to resident equipment as needed.
• Maintains infection control practice of treatment area and equipment.
• Provides and distributes equipment as needed.
• Participates in information sharing and communication.
• Collects records and manages data in computer program.

What You Will Need

• Post-secondary education is an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a Rehabilitation Therapist Diploma.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse population
