Are you a physician in the GTA with a passion for hospice palliative care?
Operated by Saint Elizabeth Foundation, the hospice has been serving people experiencing homelessness and structural vulnerability in downtown Toronto since 2018. It features an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, personal support workers, complementary therapists, and volunteers, all adopting a trauma-informed, culturally safe, and harm-reducing approach to care.
Currently, there are 13 beds, and we are looking to expand our physician team. Currently supporting the program are two physicians. The role is based on a fee-for-service model with two-week rotations involving onsite visits and on-call hours, with limited after-hours calls due to our staffing model.
This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a specialized care model serving often overlooked patients. Journey Home Hospice fosters a fun, engaging, and responsive environment focusing on patient-centered care, supported by highly trained staff. Professional development opportunities are available upon request, and the site is involved in ongoing research and evaluation.
