Qualifications

  • Membership in Canadian Association of Physician Assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care within a physician/PA relationship under CPSS guidelines.
  • Act as academically and clinically educated medical generalist in primary health services.
  • May provide services to acute and long-term care sites as required.

Job Description

Physician Assistants (PAs) are academically and clinically educated medical generalist who practice medicine within a formalized relationship with a physician. Regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), PAs collect and interpret medical information, make appropriate clinical decisions and carry out diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a formalized Physician/PA relationship agreement approved by the CPSS. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS membersin accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Experience
  • Clinical experience working as a PA in a related clinical field, is an asset
Education
  • Completion of an accredited PA degree program recognized by PACCC
Licenses
  • Physician Assistant - Certified (PA-C) through the NCCPA.
  • Eligible for registration with CPSS (for applicants outside of Saskatchewan).
  • (May be asked to provide proof of meeting maintenance of certification)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) through PACCC; or
  • Membership and Licensure in good standing with the CPSS as a PA; or
