La Ronge Health Centre in Saskatchewan is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for the Integrated Nursing Unit. This full-time regular role supports physicians in assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic interventions within a formal physician/PA relationship approved by CPSS.

Candidates must complete an accredited PA degree; PA-C or eligibility; valid CPSS licensure; and willingness to travel within Saskatchewan.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited PA degree program recognized by PACCC.
  • PA-C certification or eligibility with CPSS registration.
  • Eligibility for registration with CPSS (if outside Saskatchewan).

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical assessment and therapeutic interventions under physician supervision.
  • Collect and interpret medical information and support decisions in a PA-physician relationship.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care.

  • Job Description: Physician Assistants (PAs) are academically and clinically educated medical generalist who practice medicine within a formalized relationship with a physician. Regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), PAs collect and interpret medical information, make appropriate clinical decisions and carry out diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a formalized Physician/PA relationship agreement approved by the CPSS. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS membersin accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Experience
  • Clinical experience working as a PA in a related clinical field, is an asset
Education
  • Completion of an accredited PA degree program recognized by PACCC
Licenses
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Physician Assistant - Certified (PA-C) through the NCCPA.
  • Membership and Licensure in good standing with the CPSS as a PA; or
  • Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) through PACCC; or
  • Eligible for registration with CPSS (for applicants outside of Saskatchewan).
  • (May be asked to provide proof of meeting maintenance of certification)
