The PA works under a physician/PA relationship, providing medical assessment, diagnostics and therapeutic interventions. Eligibility includes accredited PA degree, PA-C or CPSS licensure, and active membership in good standing.

Qualifications

• Clinical experience as a PA is asset.
• Completion of an accredited PA degree program recognized by PACCC.
• Valid CPSS licensure or eligible for CPSS registration.

Responsibilities

• Physician Assistants provide medical care within a formal physician/PA relationship.
• Collect and interpret medical information, make clinical decisions, and carry out diagnostic/therapeutic interventions.
• Participate in patient management and collaborative care within the Integrated Nursing Unit.

Job Description: Physician Assistants (PAs) are academically and clinically educated medical generalist who practice medicine within a formalized relationship with a physician. Regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), PAs collect and interpret medical information, make appropriate clinical decisions and carry out diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a formalized Physician/PA relationship agreement approved by the CPSS. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Licenses

• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Physician Assistant - Certified (PA-C) through the NCCPA.
• Membership and Licensure in good standing with the CPSS as a PA; or
• Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) through PACCC; or
• Eligible for registration with CPSS (for applicants outside of Saskatchewan).
