Job summary

LifeLabs in North York, ON is seeking a Phlebotomist (SEIU) for a part-time regular role. You will greet patients, collect specimens, and ensure proper test protocol. The position supports patient care across SEIU areas with schedule Mon-Fri 2:00-6:00pm and Rotational Saturdays.

A caring, privacy-focused approach is essential. Graduates of an approved Laboratory Assistant program are preferred; phlebotomy experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is an asset.
• Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
• Strong customer/patient service skills and ability to relate to patients in stressful situations.
• Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet and collect required information from patients and explain the specimen collection process.
• Perform phlebotomies and related monitoring (holter, ECG tracings as required).
• Complete special test collections and related documentation.
• Maintain client relationships and respond to inquiries.
• Complete data entry of patient demographics and requisition information.
• Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
