Job summary

University Health Network seeks a Pharmacy Technician for its Toronto Rehab - Multiple Sites pharmacy. You will independently handle compounding, dispensing, and maintaining patient records in the pharmacy system.

The role requires completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program and registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, plus strong communication and organizational skills. Temporary full-time, end date around July 2028, 37.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Ability to manage priorities and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently performing all technical aspects of prescription preparation including compounding and dispensing.
• Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas.
• Updating patient information in the pharmacy system and ensuring accuracy.
• Completing required reports and documentation and supporting training activities.
• Assisting in workload measurement and cross-functional duties as assigned.

Duties:

• Independently performing all technical aspects of prescription preparation including compounding and dispensing responsibilities, as per master worksheets;
• Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas;
• Ensuring patient information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy computer system;
• Completing all required reports and documentation;
• Attending, participating and assisting in staff and patient training/educational functions;
• Performing workload measurement support functions;
• Performing cross-functional and/other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested

Qualifications

• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent required
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery
• Two years practical and related experience preferred
• Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service, preferred
