Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Calgary is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to join the Pharmacy Central Production team. You will perform full-scope pharmacy duties including sterile and non-sterile compounding and final checks of medications under supervision.

You will triage orders, prepare repackaged medications, support inventory and procurement, complete BPMHs, mentor staff, and collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
Current, provisional, or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
Experience with hospital pharmacy systems and sterile/non-sterile compounding is preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and perform sterile and non-sterile compounding.
Final checks of medications and dispense orders prepared by Pharmacy Assistants/Technicians.
Assist with inventory, procurement, and repackaging activities.
Complete BPMHs in a clinical setting.
Mentor Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians; precept students.
Collaborate with pharmacists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
