Qualifications

• Knowledge of medication names and dosages; ability to fulfill RMH CIVA certification within 6 months.

Department/Unit/Program Description

The RMH Pharmacy is an integrated team of Pharmacists, Regulated Technicians and Assistants.

The staff is responsible for the procurement, storage, preparation and delivery of all medications, ensuring the safety and quality of all medicine related processes affecting patients of the hospital.

As professionals, the staff members continue to maintain and improve the medication management and pharmaceutical care of patients to the highest standards, as outlined by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Department is currently seeking a Permanent Part-Time Registered Pharmacy Technician to join their team.

Effective Date: November 2, 2026

Essential Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician program from a CCAPP accredited College, the PEBC Qualifying Exam and the OCP Jurisprudence Exam and is registered with OCP
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately with attention to detail
• Ability to function under minimal supervision
• Good knowledge of medication names and dosages
• Must successfully complete RMH CIVA certification within 6 months
• Must be able to fulfill physical requirement of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Trained in EPIC - training can be provided, but must pass required testing.

Hours of Work

Hours of operation for the Pharmacy department are currently 8 and 10 hour day shifts, 7:00 am to 8:00pm, Monday to Sunday. Shifts and hours may vary and change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
