Job summary

The North Bay Regional Health Centre's Pharmacy Department is seeking a Pharmacy Technician responsible for dispensing and compounding of drugs as delegated by a Pharmacist, and for the distribution component of Pharmacy Services, following hospital standards. Incentive: a $5000 program incentive payable over a two-year commitment to the Health Centre with incremental payments.

The role requires bilingual English/French proficiency, hospital experience, and knowledge of pharmacy automation

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (Ontario College of Pharmacists).
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy and hospital automation is an asset.
• Knowledge of Meditech is an asset.

Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for dispensing and compounding of drugs, as delegated by a Pharmacist, and the distribution component of Pharmacy Services, in keeping with the standards of Hospital Pharmacy practice.

PROGRAM INCENTIVE

North Bay Regional Health Centre is offering $5000 in exchange for a two-year commitment to the Health Centre as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician. Funds are received in increments throughout the two-year commitment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

• Graduate from a Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent required
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (Ontario College of Pharmacists)
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy and hospital pharmacy automated technologies are assets
• Knowledge and experience with Meditech an asset

Skills/Abilities

• Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word) required
• Demonstrated excellent judgment and proven analytical skills required
• Good attendance and work record required
• Must demonstrate commitment to ensure the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
• Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level
