Our Pharmacy department plays a vital role in ensuring the safe distribution and service of medications, which is crucial for positive patient outcomes. We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is comfortable with technology, a strong team player, and able to work effectively with pharmacists and other staff.

This is a Temporary Full-Time position, with a duration until December 23, 2026. The role reports to the Manager, Pharmacy Services, and the salary ranges from $32.32 to $37.26 per hour. The position requires availability for all rotating shifts, including weekends, at our Wilson Site (subject to change). Training involves 2-3 days over 6 weeks during daytime hours.

Responsibilities

1. Manage all technical aspects of drug distribution, including filling and checking medication bins, preparing sterile products, TPN, chemotherapy, and narcotics.
2. Purchase, receive, check expiration, pre-package, deliver medications, and maintain related records.
3. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Community College Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (RPh.T).
• 1-2 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Hospital pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Experience with unit dose and IV additives preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to prioritize workload.
• Good knowledge of drug names and clinical uses.
• Excellent attendance and discipline record.
