Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart Specialty Health Network in Mississauga is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to handle administrative duties related to dispensing and, where applicable, scheduling, shipping and packing of medications under pharmacist supervision.

You will interact with patients and healthcare providers, ensure accurate data entry, labeling, and timely delivery, and support inventory, billing and compliance with SOPs.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Certificate and relevant pharmacy experience an asset.
• Excellent drive and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple demands under short time constraints.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions and documents for completeness.
• Enter demographic, payer, clinical notes and prescriptions into systems.
• Generate medication labels and ensure timely dispensing and delivery.
• Oversee medication delivery including packing and shipping when needed.
• Maintain inventory, perform counts, and ensure proper storage and disposal.
• Handle billing, record keeping and privacy compliance.
• Coordinate with pharmacists, physicians and other departments for timely patient care.
