About Mednow Pharmacy

Mednow Pharmacy is building a more convenient, connected and personalized pharmacy experience for Canadians.

We combine the services patients expect from a great community pharmacy with technology designed to make accessing and managing care easier. Our digital platform supports online prescription management, pharmacist chat, integrated delivery, digital workflows and other tools that allow our pharmacy team to spend more time focused on patients.

Mednow is also part of a broader healthcare platform connecting pharmacy and medical care. More than 50 physicians actively provide care through the Mednow platform, both virtually and through in-home visits. We operate a pharmacy in Vancouver and work with pharmacy partners across Canada.

Our goal is simple: use technology to make pharmacy more accessible, efficient and personal without losing the relationship and clinical judgment that great pharmacy care requires.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead our Toronto pharmacy.

This is both a leadership role and a hands-on pharmacist position. You will be responsible for the safe, compliant and effective operation of the pharmacy while continuing to participate in dispensing, counselling and clinical care.

You’ll lead the pharmacy team, oversee day-to-day operations, maintain high standards of regulatory compliance and patient care, and work closely with Mednow's operations and technology teams to continuously improve how the pharmacy operates.

Unlike a traditional pharmacy environment, Mednow combines pharmacy operations with digital workflows, integrated delivery, secure chat and a network of physicians providing virtual and in-home care. The Pharmacy Manager will play an important role in bringing these pieces together into an exceptional patient experience.

What You'll Do
Pharmacy Leadership & Operations
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy and take overall accountability for pharmacy performance
  • Serve as the Designated Manager and ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with Ontario College of Pharmacists standards and applicable legislation
  • Lead, coach and support pharmacists, pharmacy assistants and other pharmacy team members
  • Manage pharmacy workflow, staffing, scheduling and allocation of responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain effective operating procedures and quality-assurance processes
  • Monitor pharmacy workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and patient experience
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable and patient-first culture
  • Work closely with Mednow's broader operations, support and technology teams
Patient & Clinical Care
  • Review, verify and dispense prescriptions accurately and safely
  • Counsel patients regarding medications, adherence, side effects, interactions and appropriate use
  • Conduct medication reviews and provide pharmacist-led clinical services
  • Assess and prescribe for minor ailments and other conditions within pharmacist scope of practice
  • Identify and resolve drug therapy problems
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals involved in patient care
  • Support patients through traditional and digital channels, including phone and secure chat
  • Ensure patients receive timely, professional and personalized care
Compliance & Quality
  • Maintain compliance with OCP standards, privacy requirements, applicable legislation and Mednow policies
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, record keeping, narcotic and controlled-substance management and inventory controls
  • Maintain pharmacy policies and procedures and ensure they are consistently followed
  • Manage and respond appropriately to medication incidents, patient concerns and quality-assurance issues
  • Maintain a culture where patient safety and professional standards come first
Technology & Continuous Improvement
  • Use Kroll and Mednow's technology platform to manage prescriptions, patient communication and pharmacy workflows
  • Help develop and improve digital pharmacy workflows as Mednow's platform evolves
  • Work with product, technology and operations teams to identify friction experienced by pharmacists and patients
  • Help introduce new clinical services, programs and technology into pharmacy operations
  • Use technology and process improvement to reduce unnecessary administrative work and allow the pharmacy team to spend more time on patient care
What We're Looking For
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution
  • Eligible and willing to act as the pharmacy's Designated Manager
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario pharmacy legislation, OCP standards and community pharmacy operations
  • Several years of community pharmacy experience
  • Previous pharmacy management, leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a pharmacy team
  • Comfortable taking ownership of pharmacy operations and solving problems independently
  • Strong organizational and workflow-management skills
  • Excellent patient communication and counselling skills
  • Comfortable adopting new technology and working in a digitally enabled environment
  • Collaborative approach to working with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Experience with Kroll is strongly preferred
Compensation

The base salary for this position is $120,000–$135,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, plus the opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus.

The performance bonus is designed to recognize strong leadership and results across areas such as pharmacy performance, operational execution, patient experience, team development and quality.

Why Mednow?
  • Lead a different kind of pharmacy. You’ll have responsibility for a community pharmacy while also helping shape a technology-enabled model of pharmacy care.
  • Technology that supports the pharmacy team. Digital workflows, integrated delivery, secure chat and other tools are designed to reduce friction for both patients and pharmacy staff.
  • Connected clinical care. Mednow's platform includes 50+ physicians providing virtual and in-home care, creating opportunities for closer collaboration between pharmacists and prescribers.
  • Build and improve. We aren’t looking for someone simply to maintain the status quo. You’ll have the opportunity to identify problems, improve workflows and help determine how our pharmacy model evolves.
  • Make pharmacy more personal. We believe technology should make pharmacy more human, not less—giving pharmacists better tools, better information and more time to care for patients.

We’re looking for a Pharmacy Manager who combines strong professional and clinical standards with an operator’s mindset: someone who takes ownership, develops their team and is excited about building a better pharmacy experience for patients.
