Job description

Are you looking for a retail opportunity where you’ll be more than just a nametag to customers? A place where you’ll get the chance to know, help, and catch up with familiar faces every day? Or the opportunity to own and run your own business? If so, we are the place for you. We’re Parkdale Pharmasave (-parkdale /), and we provide a variety of pharmacy services like pharmacy services, diabetes management, heart health management, asthma / COPD management, women’s health, general health and wellness, medication management, community health resources, injection / travel health, and more.

Now we’re looking to add a new member to our team and continue the tradition of exceptional, personal service that we’re known for. That’s where you come in. As our new Pharmacy Manager, your role will be to oversee the daily operations of the Parkdale location. Whether you’re overseeing our store managers, staff, and pharmacy techs, building our strategic initiatives, or working with patients, you’ll need to bring a strong sense of organization, purpose, and caring to every task.

You will need to be comfortable dealing almost exclusively with patients who have mental health challenges and other vulnerable patients. Another key aspect of your role will involve working with staff attached to the nearby supportive housing home. Most importantly, you’ll bring strong leadership skills to ensure everyone is working towards common goals. You’ll be driving sales, discovering new opportunities, and understanding how our business is performing and why.

Working with your store management team, you’ll set strategies, oversee execution, and help us grow further. As an experienced pharmacist, you’ll bring a compassionate, patient-first focus to everything you do. Ideally, you also have a background in pharmaceutical compounding, as we pride ourselves on offering tailored solutions for our patients’ needs. Community involvement is also vital—supporting local events, volunteering, or building personal relationships in the community.

You’ll excel in this role if you possess the following qualities:

  • Independence – You know what needs to be done and prefer to work autonomously.
  • Dependability – You can be trusted to make the right decisions under various circumstances.
  • Entrepreneurialism – You have a growth mindset and are eager to find innovative ways to expand the business.
  • Foresight – You can plan effectively and execute strategies to meet targets or solve logistical issues.
  • Patient Centricity – The needs of your patients are your top priority, and you aim to serve them in ways that align with their lifestyles and medical needs.

Working with Us: This is a full-time, permanent management role. You should be comfortable working beyond standard hours to meet business needs. We are a small but growing family business looking for dedicated pharmacists to contribute to our success. In return, you’ll have opportunities for professional development and potential ownership in the future. We offer autonomy, a supportive team, and a community-focused environment.

Qualifications:

  • Member of and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists / licensed to practice pharmacy in any Canadian province
  • Experience as a pharmacist or pharmacy manager, preferably in retail pharmacy with direct customer interaction
  • Experience in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Experience with clinical services and natural health products
  • Experience in a small, independent business is an asset
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Excel for inventory, scheduling, etc.)
  • Knowledge of pharmacy billing, accounting, and operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
  • Injection certification completed or willingness to obtain it

How to Apply: Our online application process allows you to present yourself as a complete person, not just a resume. It assesses your qualifications, personality, and workplace preferences, taking about 10-15 minutes. After submitting, you’ll be invited to view your assessment results via email. We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified individuals to apply. For accommodations during the recruitment process, please contact us through the “Help” button. Applications are reviewed as received, with priority given to those who complete the assessment. We look forward to hearing from you.
