This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and is responsible for receiving, preparing, and delivering prescriptions accurately and timely. Ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet patient needs, and counseling patients with appropriate documentation. Provide friendly, positive, and proactive interactions with all internal and external customers, create awareness, and educate customers through public relations. Supervise, guide, and direct staff, with accountability for the financial and operational success of the department.

What you'll do

  1. Supervise and provide guidance and direction to staff
  2. Responsible for hiring and managing staff performance
  3. Accountable for the financial and operational success of the department
  4. Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and timely
  5. Ensure medication and over-the-counter supplement inventory levels meet patients’ needs
  6. Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications in a friendly, positive, and proactive manner
  7. Create awareness and educate customers through public relations activities (public health days, clinics, etc.)
  8. Provide timely and positive resolutions to patients' needs and doctors' requests/issues
  9. Review and obtain budgeted sales and net contribution
  10. Identify and report sales opportunities internally and externally
  11. Review and control costs within Loblaw Pharmacy (dispensary)

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Class A Pharmacist license
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a retail environment
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate and coach
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
  • Proven ability to build business using community-based marketing strategies
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including formulating and executing action plans
  • Strong personal computing skills; knowledge of Healthwatch and/or KROLL Pharmacy systems is an asset
