Job summary

CareRx Corporation is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant (Entry level - Training Provided) to support our Ottawa pharmacy team. This on-site role involves assisting with medication preparation, packaging, and daily operations in accordance with pharmacy standards.

Entry-level opportunity with training provided; prior experience is welcome but not required. The position supports LTC homes and retirement communities with a stable schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited program is preferred, but training will be provided.
• Experience with KROLL and/or PacMed is an asset.
• Visual acuity, numeracy, detail oriented; manual dexterity for handling strip packs, bottles and labels.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure precise record-keeping and prescription information from nursing staff via dispensary software.
• Prepare medication for compliance packaging and maintain workflow for prescriptions within timelines.
• Assist with pharmacy inventory management and operate PacMed dispensing machine for processing and filling prescriptions.
• Manage returns and expired products from nursing homes, including unpacking, sorting and disposal of medications.
• Preparing creams and liquids, and generate daily and weekly production reports.
• Maintain stock levels, reorder medications, and prepare both manual and automated compliance packaging.
• Ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to ethical standards, and contributing to a clean pharmacy environment.

Role Accountabilities:

Compensation Range:$18 - $20/hour. Actualpay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience.

Location:This is on-site role at our Ottawa pharmacy located at 2447 Kaladar Ave Ottawa, ON K1V8B9 and follows a five-day workweek with participation in weekend rotation.
