Job summary

CareRx is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant for our Oakville, ON location. The role involves preparing, labeling and dispensing prescriptions, maintaining inventory, and coordinating with care facilities.

You will work under pharmacist supervision, potentially operating automated machines and assisting with compounding as needed. The ideal candidate has a Pharmacy Assistant certificate or relevant experience, with knowledge of Kroll/eMAR systems and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as Pharmacy Assistant or accreditation from an accredited program preferred but not required.
• Excellent working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems (Point Click Care, Catalyst, Med E Care).
• Competency with Microsoft Office software.
• Demonstrated ability to operate PACMed and PACVision machines.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and fill prescriptions using eMAR and Kroll.
• Receive, stock, organize, and maintain inventory.
• Prepare and ensure timely delivery of prescriptions and labels to care facilities and retirement homes.
• Respond to inquiries from nurses and healthcare providers, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Ensure accurate documentation, maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards.

Role Accountabilities:

• Preparing, processing, and filling prescriptions using eMAR and Kroll pharmacy software, including handling refills and third-party adjudications.
• Receiving, stocking, organizing, and maintaining inventory, including managing returns of expired products.
• Preparing and ensuring timely delivery of prescriptions and labels to care facilities and retirement homes,
• Managing supplies and performing other related administrative duties.
• Responding to inquiries from nurses and healthcare providers, and directing calls to appropriate staff.
• Ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to ethical standards, and contributing to a clean pharmacy environment
• Assisting with various pharmacy operations, including potentially operating automated machines and compounding prescriptions under pharmacist supervision as well as consulting with management on unresolved issues.

What You Will Bring to The Team:

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred, but not required
• Excellent working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems (Point Click Care, Catalyst, Med E Care)
• Competency with Microsoft Office software
• Demonstrated ability to operate PACMed and PACVision machines
• Strong time management and organizational skills

Compensation Range: $19 - $23/hour. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate's credentials and experience.

Location: This is on-site role at our Oakville Pharmacy- 3430 Superior Ct, Oakville, ON L6L 0C4 and follows a five-day workweek.
