Job summary

Canora Pharmacy in Canora, Saskatchewan, is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. You will support pharmacists and technicians, greet customers, enter prescriptions, count and package medications, and help with daily operations.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with 20 hours per week in shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday to Friday. Prior retail pharmacy experience and a pharmacy assistant program are assets.

Qualifications

• Retail pharmacy experience as Pharmacy Assistant preferred.
• Accurate prescription data entry skills (Kroll asset).
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care

• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry is an asset.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule

• 20 hours per week (Part-time)
• The usual shifts will be Wednesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
